Il re Acrisio di Argo imprigiona la figlia Danae, temendo la profezia che annuncia la nascita di un figlio destinato a superarlo. Quando Zeus la feconda, Acrisio scaglia madre e neonato in mare, ma il dio li salva e punisce il re liberando il Kraken.

Perseo cresce ignaro delle sue origini finché la dea Teti, per vendetta, lo trasporta a Joppa. Qui scopre che la principessa Andromeda è vittima di un terribile sortilegio: potrà sposarsi solo se il pretendente risolverà un enigma mortale imposto da Calibos, il mostruoso figlio di Teti.

Guidato dagli dèi, Perseo riceve armi divine, cattura Pegaso e affronta prove sempre più pericolose: la Medusa, le Streghe Stigie, il Kraken. Solo superando ogni ostacolo potrà salvare Andromeda e compiere il proprio destino.
